It's cool, but I would'nt want to put that much power to my engine...or pay more than I payed new for the bike to do it lol.

So nice to see that he's carried the project right through to production (assuming I read that right).

I doubt the SV engine can take that kind of hp increase.

$500 more than what I paid for my bike so I can blow up the motor...
I'll just save up for a faster bike if power became a necessity.

Stock bottom end would not handle it.

it says the engine on that bike has all of the stock internals... i dunno? maybe it would be fine on the sv?

The VFR is a bigger engine and a V4. Considering the guys boring out the SV engine to 700CC are pushing the limits, not for me.
The bet would be how long the engine would last on the SV if this was done.

Bugger doing that to the 650... if you want an SV650 to go considerably faster, you sell it and buy the matching thou... now supercharging the thou, that's more like it!

I agree.
When it comes to motorcycles, I don't think it is worth it to spend lots of money upgrading the HP. The money you spend on those mods is lost once you install the parts.
If you want more power, sell your bike, buy a better bike. The extra power on that bike actually holds its value, unlike throwing a supercharger on.

So why not do it to a bike that can benefit from it? And don't say because I've already got the 650 and can't afford another... because if money is a problem, then supercharging bikes properly is the wrong hobby for you.

Heh, was talking to a buddy about that last night... we were thinking that it'd be neat to repower one of the pocket bikes with a V6 made from 13cc chainsaw running gear Only problem would be the expansion chambers :/

this is doable but most of your internals would need upgrading and the bottom end would most defiantly/probably give way so unless it is a keep sake project bike and you are never selling it I would not recommend as you would lose so much money but if you did it would be a phenomenal masterpiece

Unfortunately for the Turbo/Blower enthusiasts out there...this is the normal response to adding superchargers to smaller bikes. It is a LOT easier/cheaper/better to just put a bigger motor in it than try to artificially increase the power. Not that it wouldn't be cool as anything to have a blown middle-weight...having a Liter runs about as well with so much less complication.
Blowing a Liter.......NOW you're talking! But there IS a point of having too much and it's no fun....only frustration trying to use it without it getting the better of you. Notice all the Traction/Wheelie Controls on the new SS bikes as proof. Too much of a good thing can turn bad.
